Remember last week, when I compared The Zygon Invasion to the Letts/Dicks era of Doctor Who?
This week's follow up - The Zygon Inversion - completely nails it.
I'm not going to spoil the episode. (And for those who proclaim that they're OK with spoilers - I'm writing this blog. You're not. So I'm not going to put in spoilers) But there are so many great follow ups to plot threads from last week, spoiling them would ruin the overall effect of the episode.
And then, of course, there's Capaldi's speech at the end, which is more of a callback to the "Have I The Right?" speech in Genesis of the Daleks than the season opener. It's one of the few times that Doctor Who not only takes on current issues, but takes the ball and runs with it, asking tough questions without providing easy answers.
(And quite honestly, it's a much better ethical stance than last season's Kill the Moon, with its "magic space dragon egg" premise).
The Zygon Inversion ends Series 9's run of consecutive two-parters, but could easily serve as a season finale. Yes, this is a two part Doctor Who episode which is that good.
